I am told that I should immediately stop paying my credit card bills to get the attention of the lenders, so they will be more open to negotiations. And I should refer all contact to the debt settlement company. Is this normal?

I am doing a little mental excersize, and I want to know aproximately what percentage of his/her income a worker should expect to pay in taxes at the state, local and federal levels. If you could even give a break down, that would be better. For the sake of my excersize, this individual doesn’t own a house, but rents an appartment, and has a small car, which is insured.

- each content / page should allow me to set which set of members can access the content (I plan on having several sub forums, in which i want members to be able to enroll (meaning they can read the forums but cannot post) for free to all of the forums, and subscribe (meaning they can post in the forums), but only can subscribe to one subforum for free.
- Users should have the option of receiving an email when they get a response to a thread.
- I want to integrate a marketplace with the forum, where users can purchase items, with credits in their account.
- user profiles with customized information.
- complete customization of the look of the site.
- easy enough for my clients to use on a daily basis.
- easy enough for me to maintain with a few hours a day (without needing to understand a lot of coding)

I’m not very experienced PHP / MySQL application developer’s, so i need something with great customer support / forums that can help me with the things i need.

Collection agencies have not removed negative information from my credit file even though I PAID all my credit card debts. Now what should I do I called and told them to remove the invalid information but they won’t do it. What is the best way to have them clear out the junk from my file?

I have over $20,000 of credit card debt. I am able to pay them off slowly now, but I am thinking of consolidating everything with a debt management program. This program said they will close all my accounts and all I have to pay is a low monthly payment of $500 a month for all my credit cards. Is this a good deal? I am not sure.
