I need to build my credit again and planning on getting a secured credit card. My credit score now is 550 so i would like to raise it up to 700+. Just curious as to how long will it take to build my score up again? How much points does a person gain in a month? Thanks.

I don’t have the best credit, but I know 625 and up is preferred. I just bought a new car, and will be paying off for five years. Making payments for 60 months on time, how should my credit score look in five years or so with a 525 credit score? I have payed off all debts, so I am good now and it can only go up. Thanks.

I’m looking for a percent that I should put away from each check. My expenses are limited… $183 toward car payment /month, $40 for the gym /month, $60 for the phone bill /month. I get paid around $800 post-tax every two weeks. I am looking to save for two seperate things. One is for vacations the other amount I would like to put away just to start a savings account. I appreciate any sincere answers…I just graduated college, this is my first job with a steady pay check and I want to be smart about my money! Thank you!

I got a letter from a collection agency dated 10/17/06 telling me about charges I owed from a phone I had in 2003. The charges are bogus because the account was paid. I’m disputing the charges, but I don’t want the negative report on my credit report because I’m trying to buy a house right now. They haven’t showed up as of yet even though the agency now appears as one of my creditors. Any ideas on how long it will take for the actual account to show up? Thanks!

I am about $5,000 in debt (NONE OF WHICH IS FROM A CREDIT CARD…I’VE NEVER HAD ONE) and my credit score is a lot lower than I would like it to be. Most of my balance is either medical or utility.

If I pay a $100 balance with a doctors office how much will it raise my score? Or in general if I pay anything off on my credit report how much does it raise the score?
