Does anyone know of any types of loans or lenders who will consider applicants who are currently enrolled in a debt management plan (DMP) or Credit Counseling Program (CCCS)? I have been making monthly payments on my DMP for almost a year, but have several more years to go. I would really like to buy a house. I would be a first time home buyer. Does anyone know whether this is possible?

I have a car that i owe money on of which the APR is 27% and i owe $7,800 (i know my credit was bad when i got it but it’s way better now). I spoke to someone from the credit company & they told me i could pay off in Sept with $6,600. My future husband owes $5,000 on his car & i’m planning on paying off either one of the cars. Note: my car payment is $260/month & his is $420/month but his APR is 5%. Which car would be smarter to pay off?? We’re getting married in Sept but because we want to pay off debt we can’t afford to spend alot on the ceremony. The most we can spend is $2,500 aside from the help that both our family’s are willing to help us with. What would be the best way to plan the ceremony?? what are your suggestions?? Our budget is limited but my family is willing to pay for the food & decorations & his family are willing to pay for entertainment so at least we want to have pictures taken & a video at least. Wdding will be for party of 50. HELP!!

I am a descendant of Will and Minnie Pearl Dickson and would love to find some of my cousins whom I do not know. But several of the questions I’ve posted here got me violations and I don’t know what to do. I did get one response from a girl who is probably my cousin, but she didn’t have any contact information in her profile and I can’t get in touch with her or I would just have done it that way. I don’t have any credit cards to use for any of the other services offered that do these things for money, so I need to find a way to do this myself and at no cost. Can somebody offer some viable suggestions so I can find my family? I would greatly appreciate your help with this one. Thanks in advance to all who answer and help in some way.
I had one reply from a girl who was the grandaughter of my uncle, but she is the one with no contact information. I would love for her to contact me, but when I have tried to post questions they have been deleted for solicitation in violation of the rules here. I need ideas for ways to get ahold of her again in Answers because I know she uses this forum. Please help if you can. She has not contacted me again and I just want to know about my other family’s welfare.

What ways are there to receive more need based aid? I know that its too late to do anything about merit based, but that doesn’t matter really because I have a 3.9GPA and a 28 on my ACT.

I live in oklahoma and will most likely attend OU this coming fall. My family is pretty much poor, so all the extra help i get is great. Oklahoma has a program called OHLAP that pays tuition, and I will get an allowance from the university for books and fees. But room and board is $7k a year as opposed to tuition being $6k.

So what ways can I get them to hand out more aide? Would being independent of my parents get me more? If they ask if I am interested in work-study and other programs how does that affect the end result? Any and all tips from people with experience are appreciated. My dad makes about $35ish k a year if it matters.

It’s my first time applying for it…I’m going back to school after a haitus. I work full time… support myself completely…make about 1500-1600/ month..and i pay rent, and a fair share of medical bills too.
