What are some good books about budgeting your money, saving & living frugally?
My cousin just got a great job & salary. She’s in $40,000 debt, though. She’s going to be making more than enough money to pay this off in the next couple of years. However, she is very impulsive and tends to spend a lot of money. I want to get her some good books for her b-day that will ensure a more secure future; any suggestions for books –
or suggestions in general? Like what percentage of income goes towards living, food, transportation, savings, etc. Thanks!
How can I obtain information about a credit card debt from 1992 that is no longer on my credit report?
I do not have any of the actual statements and the company that held the account has been sold off many times so contacting them did not produce anything? Is there a way to obtain old credit reports or information about accounts/debts that are no longer on your credit report?
I live in Ohio and the collection agency is arguing for the 15 year “written contract” SOL – I believe the default occurred in 1993 or 1994 (it’s my husband’s accout) but I’m trying to figure out the exact date of default based on when the account was last paid. So I need a old credit report or some other documentation.

I recently checked my credit report. The information is very inaccurate. What do I do about this?
I recently turned 18 (April 2009), and decided to check my credit report due to a bill from a car accident that I had to make sure wasn’t against my credit. That bill wasnt…but they have a past due phone bill that had been put in my name in 2006 I believe. The bill has been on my credit since Aug. 2008. Since I only turned 18 last year, I had never checked my credit report, because I didn’t THINK I had 1, but the credit report has my birthdate as 1970, and my age as 38! I did not authorize the phone line to be put in my name, nor did my parents and I was not 18 then! This is against my credit, and since I am only 18 and have established no credit, this blemish is keeping me from getting any sort of credit card, etc. to help me credit! Please help me! Im not sure how to go about this the right way to ensure that this is off of my credit! How do I get this OFF of my credit, and what do I do about the inaccurate information also? Please reply ASAP so I can have this taken care of!
