Job/Money/Kids…how can I even this out to prepare for this future?

I want to try to make this really simple.

My fiancee wants to pursue his career in heating and cooling and I want to become a zookeeper. We plan on having two kids and to also buy our own log cabin style house with some land to own a couple of horses and a small wolf pack covering most of the acres (sort of a “tiny sanctuary”). With the economy these days, can this work out with us not going into debt? If not, how can I make this work without altering our plan too much?

  • Tom:

Most banks provide a financial planning service and if they don’t go to an accountant but my main advice would be to research what the costs of all the things you want are before doing anything.
