HELP! These really rude ppl called my job and threatned to sue they said I defrauded a loan company?
I recieved a payday loan online a while back and after about three weeks of and three unpaid pay periods of them taking all of pay check and constantly sending the payment throught day after day even when it wasn’t my period and not to mention the fact that the company that was going in and taking the payment was not the one that i had gotten the loan from so i thought ppl had stolen my baking information offline so I put a stop payment to it .I figured the real company would contact me some other way bc I could tell who was who and I couldn’t afford what was going on . Well now this guy calls and says that if I don’t pay 320.00 today right now then he’s going to send some information to my city so that can investigate me for fraud and after today the company doesnt want 320.00 they 1320.00 and their going to take it anyway they know how …. what should I do can they really press charges aganist me for fraud …. by the way the Guy wanted to collect 320.00 on today but when i asked about a payment plan he said they they were not a collection agency so they could noy put me on a plan but he wanted to collect the 320.00 on today. dont they have to turn it to a collection agency before they can take this kind of action

get a lawyer
It’s illegal to call your job for such.
You probably already know this, but don’t ever get one of these payday loans The interest is around 200%-500%, and you see what these people will do.
EDIT. And by the way, don’t mention the word “loan” on this site. You get these idiots trying to sell you something…again.
It sounds like he’s a loan shark, not a real company. If you can afford it, get a lawyer, or at least some legal advice. If you’ve already paid the loan back and he’s still demanding more money, then you can get him in trouble for extortion (since he’s threatening you). See if you can get any written statements from him about what you’ve paid and what you owe, since it will be a lot easier to work from actual documents than random phone calls.
Pay the $320 today, this way it will not go into your credit history. Continue doing the payments, don’t upset them. The money was a loan and they have the right to collect it. Those people are very rude don’t expect Mr. nice customer service. Just pay and let your life be easy.
I say get a lawyer as well. Make sure you aren’t getting scammed by these people. It probably wasn’t the best idea to get a loan over the internet anyway, but now you know. This is going to be a nightmare for you and I wish you luck! But, definitely consult a lawyer and see what your options are and make sure they aren’t scamming you. They cannot send you to the city to be investigated if they haven’t even turned it in to collections. They sound a little fishy….
i would get a lawyer ASAP and go to the police about this. they could possibly be trying to scam u. and possibly this loan thing was a scam to take ur money thts why theyre 2 diffrent companies. i could be wrong it could be people in the offices screwing things up ive seen it alot.
first off they do not have right to call your job after you tell them to stop doing it. This also goes for your home phone. It is against the law once you tell them to stop. They then must revert to letters only. Go to www.creditnet. these people are wizzes at this sort of thing. Punch in lizardking or crdedit doc. these two have some of the best tools to fight debtors ( or companies you owe money to). sorry credit collectors, you probably do not like any useful answer. LOL
long live creditnet.com!!!!!!!!!!!
Good luck
OH boy you really got in it big time
they work from the Bahamas get a good lawyer
sounds like a scam ,notify your bank, even close that account!
these places typically charge about 250% or more interest on monies borrowed! what he did was illegal get his name ,company name, and telephone # then go online type in fair debt collection act , and file a complaint with the people who oversee this kind of stuff, also tell caller they are in violation of fair debt collection act and all further contact is to be done by mail. that will stop them from calling you!
starve first beforeEVER using payday loans
they make loan sharks blush!!
you might want to quit your job for a while (arrange with your boss) then re-start later to pull the plug on them!
Ok, loan companies are really tricky. I use one all the time, but it took me awhile to find a reputable one. The trick is, ALWAYS pay them back. If you don’t, you get loan sharks and a billion phone calls full of threats just like the one you received today. Best bet is to pay up, because although it was illegal for that guy to call your job (unless you specified OK in your application then it’s not) but it’s not illegal for them to pursue your credit or anything else. What ever you agreed to in the “Terms of Agreement” (and believe me, I know you didn’t read all of it) you are bound to.
A lawyer will not pursue this. Because you signed the loan application, the terms of agreement, and other legal documents -you are bound by those documents. From that point on, if you don’t pay -they can do a lot. I would pay them, because if you don’t -the interest racks up a higher percentage DAILY. Best bet if you don’t have the money right now, is to borrow from a relative or friend and explain the situation (make sure you pay them back as well). Always use this outlet if possible. I have never had someone I could borrow money from like this, so I am pretty familiar with loan companies, however I have always made the payments. Even if you make a small payment one week and another one the next, they can’t rack up the surcharges as much. GKL
Ask to speak to a manager when anyone calls being rude. There is a certain way that they should speak to customers and he obviously was not doing it. You should be proactive and call the company yourself to explain the situation and set up a payment plan. You do owe the money, so get it taken care of.
