Specifically, how long does negative information remain on your credit report?
I have information on my credit report that is reflecting negatively on my credit score, due to late payments. I know that negative information like this remains on my credit report from 3 -7 years. However, when is it removed? I have read that it is removed based on the date of the first delinquency (in this case April, 2001), and then then I have read that it is removed based on the last date information was reported on the account/date of account closure (Jan, 2003). The account I am referring to is paid in full, with a zero balance. Based on this information – would the information be removed based on the April date or the January date? Is it exactly 7 years? – for example, if we use the January date, it would be removed in January of 2010. Can anyone clarify this for me?
This is not a credit card, it’s an old mortgage.

President Bush announced $13.4 billion in emergency loans to prevent the collapse of General Motors and Chrysler, and he said that another $4 billion would be available for the automakers in February. The entire bailout rests on whether the companies can reorganize to show that they can return to profitability. If the companies don’t come up with “a viable plan by March 31st,” they would be forced to repay the loans as soon as possible

How come you have to give out your credit card information just to have a yahoo email account?
I have had a yahoo email account for over 5 years I would say, and remember if I had to give out my credit card information, and I didn’t. But now to have a new account I need to give it out. All I ever hear now is that identity theft is happening everywhere online and the last thing I need to do is hand out my credit card information to yahoo. Yahoo doesn’t need that, why would they? Why don’t I just hand out my social security card and give them all of my bank account numbers while I’m at it. Hell, why don’t I just tell them what hand I wipe with? Why not? Because it has abosoulty no relevence to opening up a email account. And to top that off the only way I can contact customer service is to call them by phone. Not even Yahoo itself has an email account. Why? They don’t even want to give out their own information? Why? Because it’s personal and no one should know it but themselves.
Thank you, whoever you are, to take the time to read this and if you have the answer email me.
